Why do some affiliates use reseller web hosting instead of shared?
My question has to do with affiliate internet marketing. For years I've used one shared web hosting account and I create multiple add-on domains on it for all my various sites. I know it's not a good idea to have all of your domains on one server because search engines can see they all come from the same IP address if you link the sites and if you're server goes down, all of your sites are down. No site access = no money coming in.
I see that several of the top power affiliates get themselves a reseller hosting account so they can create individual websites rather than add-on domains, but they're still all on the same IP address and if the server goes down, all the sites will be down.
Reseller hosting is considerably more expensive than shared hosting and I know you can offset the cost by selling accounts and domain names from it, but let's say you don't sell to other people.
So what's the advantage of using reseller hosting instead of shared hosting for affiliate marketing?
Also, yesterday I was looking at some reseller hosting. I need to do some more research, but tell me if something like this is in the ballpark or too expensive. These are just the high level features, but bascially, anything you can do on a shared hosting account, you can do on this so I certainly wouldn't be losing anything.

So, why would I want to use a reseller account instead of shared hosting?
WARNING: I don't mind hearing about your reseller promotion, but please answer my main question above – what's the advantage? I've been doing this Answers thing long enough to know that if you turn this into a sales pitch, vindictive Yahoo Answers members and competitors will turn you in for commercial solicitation and you'll get your account banned, so promote with caution because people suck. 
So I will say this loud and clear to the Yahoo Answers team, please don't ban anyone. This community is about getting answers and that's what I'm looking for.
Mystery Surrounds Mass Money Makers’ Day 2 Top Seller – Product Soars to Top of ClickBank in Overall Sales – Yahoo! News
The Day 2 results of Mass Money Makers’ ClickBank launch have been tabulated and the product has soared to the top of the digital marketplace’s overall sales for its category. The daily winner of the $1,000 bonus for most sales, however, remains a mystery.

Day 2 of the Mass Money Makers’ ClickBank launch has come to a close, and the product’s developers, Matt Bacak and Alen Sultanic, are ready to hand out another $1,000 bonus to the day’s top seller. The only problem is, they don’t know who this individual is yet. While they attempted to discern who this promoter, who has shrouded himself in mystery, is, Mass Money Makers soared to the top of ClickBank in overall sales.

A $35.86 per sale showing, more than $5 ahead of its nearest competitor, helped the cash-generating system secure this coveted top spot. As the icing on the cake, Mass Money Makers landed as the number one Hot Topic search on Alexa.
“We’re thrilled with our 48-hour standings,” enthuses Bacak. “We set out to be number one on ClickBank and we’ve already hit that goal. But the fact that so many people are searching our product on Alexa means we’ve captured the Internet marketing community’s interest. Our quest for a ClickBank record-setting gravity ranking of 2,000 is so close I can taste it.”
With so many affiliates and JV partners promoting the product, Bacak can’t understand why Wednesday’s top seller insists on remaining anonymous. He certainly doesn’t mind people storming in out of the blue to topple the leader board, but he’s pretty darn curious about who this super promoter is.
“Alen and I would just like to figure out where to send the $1,000 prize. In the meantime, we’d like to encourage any other underground super-affiliate who wants to come and show off his or her skill to jump on board. Anyone is more than welcome to help make this purportedly unreachable goal of ours seem more reachable than before.”
And with five days still left in the launch, there’s plenty of time to get in on the cash bonuses. Tuesday’s Day 1 winner, Bill McCrea, has already seen his PayPal balance increase by $1,000. one that comes to mind is: hostgator.com they provide the ability to host multiple domains on one shared account.
Now a disadvantage to this is that all of your domains are "add on" domains. They redirect to sub domain folders, and aren't as easy to move around etc.
Now a re-seller plan, allows you to setup your own shared accounts. Some as mentioned are unlimited, some are limited to a number of domains. They're still on the same IP address, and potentially still on the same server as multiple shared hosting accounts that other people have but it gives you a lot more control over you websites (nameservers, etc….) Especially if you're using any form of CMS (content management system). Another benefit of reseller hosting is its durability. You will have less problems when hosting a lot of domains.
I'd recommend getting a re-seller plan if you have more than 5 websites. A couple that come to mind to check out are.
